A fiber optic fast connector may look simple, but its real quality depends on many details that cannot be seen from the outside.
- Quality Starts with the Ferrule
For a reliable telecom-grade fiber optic fast connector, the ferrule should be brand-new and from a reliable, high-quality source.
The ferrule is a key component that directly affects connection performance and insertion loss.
Using low-quality, unknown-brand, or refurbished ferrules may reduce costs, but their performance is difficult to control consistently.
Some costs simply cannot be saved when quality matters.
- Skilled Fiber Insertion Matters
A high-quality ferrule is only the beginning.
Technicians need sufficient experience and skill to insert the fiber correctly and smoothly. If the fiber is damaged or breaks inside the ferrule, the connector must be scrapped.
- End-Face Polishing & Inspection
After assembly, the fiber end face needs to be properly polished.
We then use a professional fiber optic inspection microscope to check for scratches, contamination, damage, and other defects.
Only after the end face passes inspection do we proceed to the light transmission test.
- Light Transmission & Insertion Loss Testing
The light transmission test confirms whether the fiber can transmit light normally. Experienced technicians can also identify obvious abnormalities by observing the light source.
For our telecom-grade fiber optic fast connectors, insertion loss is typically ≤ 0.3 dB.
The actual test value can be affected by temperature, humidity, testing equipment, and testing methods, so professional testing and stable data are essential.
Quality Is a Process, Not Just a Price
Our quality control process:
Quality Ferrule → Skilled Fiber Insertion → End-Face Polishing → Microscope Inspection → Light Transmission Test → Professional Insertion Loss Testing
We don’t reduce costs by sacrificing critical materials or necessary quality-control processes.
Good quality starts from the inside.
And the ferrule is where it starts.
